Delete your Kaizen Family account and data
You can delete your account from inside the app, or ask us to do it for you. You do not need the app installed, and you do not need to sign in to this page.
This page is about Kaizen Family, the family organiser app published by Kaizen Group International LLC.
Delete it yourself, in the app
This is immediate and does not need us.
- Open Kaizen Family.
- Tap the person icon in the top left.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
- Confirm.
Your account and your household's data are removed. If you are the owner of a household, this removes the household and its contents for everyone in it — so if other people are relying on the calendar, tell them first.
Ask us to delete it
If you no longer have the app, cannot sign in, or would simply rather we did it, write to privacy@kaizengroupint.com .
Send it from the email address you signed up with. That is how we confirm the request is yours — we will not delete an account on the word of an address that does not match it, because that would be its own kind of problem. If you cannot send from that address, say so and we will find another way to check.
We will action it as quickly as we can, and within the time your local law requires. In practice this takes days rather than months, and you will get a reply confirming it is done.
What is deleted
Everything belonging to your account and your household:
- Your email address, name and sign-in credentials
- The people in your household — their names, their roles, and the birthdays you entered
- Your household's allergies, dietary notes and food preferences
- Every event, task, meal, meal plan, shopping list and note
- Every photograph or note you sent to the Family Inbox, and everything the assistant found in them
- Your notification settings and your daily declarations
What is kept, and for how long
A few things outlive a deletion. None of them is clever, and we would rather set them out here than let you discover them later.
| What | How long | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Records of things you removed earlier | 90 days | When you remove a person or delete an event, we hold the record briefly so it can be restored if it was a mistake. After 90 days it is destroyed automatically, whether or not you have deleted your account. |
| Invitations you sent | 7 days | An invitation stops working after 48 hours. The record of it, including the address you sent it to, is destroyed 7 days after it expires, is cancelled, or is accepted. |
| Anonymous usage counts | Indefinitely | Which kind of request was made, when, and what it cost us to run — for billing and to spot abuse. No names, no content, nothing that identifies you or your family. |
| Records the law requires us to keep | As required | Purchases are handled by Apple and Google, who keep their own records under their own terms. We never see your card details. |
Backups are overwritten on their own cycle, so a copy of deleted data can persist in a backup for a short period after deletion. It is not used for anything and is not restored except to recover from a failure.
Deleting some of it, rather than all of it
You do not have to delete the whole account to get rid of something. From inside the app you can delete any single event, task, meal or shopping item, and you can delete anything you sent to the Family Inbox — the note, the photograph, and whatever the assistant found in it.
You can also ask us to stop counting your usage in our analytics. There is no switch for this in the app today, and we would rather say so than describe a control that does not exist. Write to privacy@kaizengroupint.com.
